| Jødisk Seminar i Finnland. Del 1
Dear
Oskar Edin Indergaar
GESHER CONSULTATION
HEINOLA, FINLAND
FRI JULY 30 - AUGUST 1, 2004
We invite you to attend a consultation organized by
the GESHER INSTITUTE on the above dates. The purpose of the consultation is to consult
on subjects of crucial importance today.
We are inviting
experts from Finland, Israel, Russia, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, England and Germany to share their views on the following subjects:
1. Knowledge
of Judaism and Bible Interpretation
2. The
Divinity and Humanity of Jesus. A
Messianic View of the Person of Jesus
3. The Position and Task of Israel in the Last Days from a Biblical Perspective
4. What is Torah and how should Christians relate to
it? Jesus'Attitude
to
Torah
Experts will be asked to provide an introduction to
each subject, ranging from a ten-minute introduction to a full paper of 30
minutes.
Simultaneous
translation will be provided.
The aim is to publish the results of the consultation in book form (bilinqual Finnish-English).
It is hope that such a consultation will help us,
under God, to clear up misunderstandings and disagreements and pave the way for
reasoned biblical exposition and teaching of the subjects addressed.
It will also
serve as a training conference for members of GESHER
and SHORASHIM.
The Friday evening and Saturday meetings at least will
be held in the Lutheran Parish Centre in Heinola. Local churches will be invited to
participate.
A programme
with the names of participants will be sent upon request in spring 2004. We hope to provide some financial aid for
visitors travelling considerable distances.
Please send on this invitation to others who are
likely to be interested.

Jødisk Seminar i Finnland. Del:2
Dear Oskar
Edin Indergaard
Thank you very much for sending us your book and for the accompanying
letter.Yesterday we had a board meeting. We would
like to invite you to present a paper on the subject "
Knowledge of Judaism and Bible
Interpretation" (20-30
minutes). We believe you are eminently qualified for this particular
subject.
We hope to send out a provisional programme at the end of February and a final
programme in May.
We expect two visitors from
Estonia, some visitors from Russia and perhaps a
married couple from Germany. The other speakers invited are Clifford Denton,
to speak on Israel in the Last Days, a Finnish Pentecostal to speak on the
humanity and divinity of the Messiah, and a Finnish missionary in Jerusalem
to bring news from Israel. The subject of the Torah we plan to divide
between an American Messianic Jew and myself.
We would like all talks in electronic form early enough to have them
translated into Finnish. This will enable all speakers to speak without
interruption. Translation into English will be provided for visitors from
abroad, and the final publication will be bilingual Finnish-English, which
we hope to publish in the autumn.
With
very best wishes
Shabat shalom!
Michael Cox
